I have been researching this term for hours and am simply unable to find a translation which I feel fits in with my translation.

: "Copyright" is much too general. This is like proposing "precipitation" as a translation for "neige." Yes, snow is a type of precipitation, but it's a specific type; the general term doesn't translate it.
