: I also think "repellant" would be appropriate here, though I like "feeding deterrent" as it addresses the fact that this is preventing the insect from biting

Thank you, Alissa. I think repelling and anti-feeding are slightly different, plus the context contains "répulsive" already, which could be translated as "repellent"
