@ Andrew Nick's suggestion applies to electrical installations, not to cement. Stranded wire/cable is the same as braided wire/cable. In concrete works, these are straps.
Nick, can you please clarify this? Would you say "standed wire" applies to concrete structures? Valeu!

Thks Mario, within the two contexts u mentioned I think u right, however, further investigation leads me to think we talking about reinforced cement here in which case maybe Nisk's idea is closest:
I think I better check with the client.

Straps vs. Braided Cable Since you mention civil works, we'll suppose it's not electrical. So, yes, straps, supposing this is used for load rigging or holding structures. However, strap pre-stressing, not prestressed straps. This refers to the pre-stressing operation, not to the type of strap.
