Spanish term

cristales monofocales o de visión sencilla

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Opticians
Are there any optician specialists out there, please?

This is from a price list of glasses lenses.

Cristales monofocales o de visión sencilla de índice 1.5
Cristales de sol monofocales o de visión sencilla de índice 1.5
Cristales progresivos (sol incluido) de índice 1.5

"cristales monofocales" means "single-vision lenses" (ie only one prescription in the lens) (cistales progresivos" means progressive, or varifocal lenses).

So I'm thinking that "visión sencilla" is just another way of saying single-vision. Or does it have a subtle difference in meaning...?

Many thanks

What are monovision contact lenses? Monovision contact lenses are one of several common ways that people correct for presbyopia as they age. In order to address the difficulty in changing focus between near and far, one contact lens is prescribed for near vision and the other contact lens for distance.

Thanks Shilpa! That was what I thought, but didn't want to assume!

Yes, it looks the "plain Spanish" explanation For people who don't like scary looking words like "monofocal".

I think so too Maybe "de visión sencilla" is an explanation of "monofocal".
