Can anyone advise me what "AV izquierda" is intended to indicate in the above? I have considered "left ventricular artery", but that seems unusual.
Cheers,
John

What are the vertebral arteries?
The vertebral arteries in the neck supply blood to the brain and spine. The name vertebral refers to the arteries’ location along the vertebrae, the bones of the spine.
You have a left vertebral artery and a right vertebral artery that run through the spinal column. The two vertebral arteries join together at the base of the skull to form the basilar artery and together are called the vertebrobasilar system.

Left vertebral artery
By the description there is a cerebral lesion at the left occipital lobe.
"The only artery that could fit that location is the Vertebral artery:
The vertebral arteries in the neck supply blood to the brain and spine. The name vertebral refers to the arteries’ location along the vertebrae, the bones of the spine.
You have a left vertebral artery and a right vertebral artery that run through the spinal column. The two vertebral arteries join together at the base of the skull to form the basilar artery and together are called the vertebrobasilar system." Taken from https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/body/21689-vertebral-a...
The vertebral arteries are part of the circulatory system. They carry blood to the brain and spinal cord, which are part of the nervous system.
The vertebral arteries not only provide blood to the neck but, along with the carotid arteries, they’re the primary source of blood to the brain.

“Canal” significa paso, orificio.
