Spanish term

la puesta en situación

Spanish to English Art/Literary Idioms / Maxims / Sayings
A text by a contemporary art critic:

Una concepción fundada en la lógica del acto, la puesta en situación y la implicación referencial, que Rosalind Krauss nos alerta que no deberíamos considerar como privativa de Duchamp, sino más bien fundante: sostenida y retomada por diversos artistas y de variadas formas a lo largo del tiempo (cf. Krauss, [1980] 2002).

Staging is "puesta en escena". Is this different?
Thanks

the setting

La puesta en situación literally means "the putting in place." So, something along the lines of, "the setting," "setting the stage," etc., would work, depending on the type of artistic critique this is.
