levy of execution/distress conducted (Scots: diligence executed) with nothing to levy / distrain
More context needed as levy of distress is routinely used South of the Border for unpaid rent and whether this execution is inded levied for enforcement of a lien - if over company shares, a court charging order (a sort of court-ordered mortgage) would be used in E&W.
'Execution of diligence' is used North of the Border in Scotland : see the second weblink.
Levy arguably works well for US American consumption - see the second example sentence. Cut to ProZ Transatlantic colleagues.
Attachment of earnings is an E&W method of enforcement cf. garnishment of wages in the USA, so is one stage on from the execution / diligence process.
Note the (questionable) translations of utlegg as 'attachment of property' and 'utleggspant' as an 'attachment charge' (judgment lien?), NOR/ENG juridisk ordbok, Patrick Chaffey, p. 144.

USA: What Is a Levy? A levy is the legal seizure of property to satisfy an outstanding debt. If you fail to pay your taxes, the Internal Revenue Service may respond by levying your tax return or property.
