Forretning translated as a *process* or a step taken, rather than proceedings, IMO is optional. No proceedings for execution are needed in E&W if there is a judg(e)ment or execution debt.

More context needed as levy of distress is routinely used South of the Border for unpaid rent and whether this execution is inded levied for enforcement of a lien - if over company shares, a court charging order (a sort of court-ordered mortgage) would be used in E&W.

Attachment of earnings is an E&W method of enforcement cf. garnishment of wages in the USA, so is one stage on from the execution / diligence process.
