"Another one of my favorite places was a small softball field located right next to the house we were living in at the time. The filed was all concrete and after you went about fifty yards, there was a wall. I could hit that wall every once in a while. My brothers got to where they could reach each level. Second tier was a double, third tier was a triple, over the rail was a home run.
Between the ages of five and ten, I used to take a rubber ball or a tennis ball and play up against the wall by myself for hours. I would be ***striking people out*** and have the ball come back, mabe try different angles and stuff. I would do that for hours and hours until someboady came to get me.
Anyway, we used to play ball every Sunday, for sure. We'd usually have two kids on a team and the pitcher would stand about forty feet away and throw just as hard as he could to the batter. If you ever caught ahold of one, you could knock it a country mile. The game moved right along. We still play sometimes when I'm home."
