Spanish term

MEDICO INSPECTOR

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Certificado de especialización
Buenas noches:

Agradeceré a quien me pueda orientar y ayudar.
Saludos,
Mariela.

That's really useful, Taña, thank you! I guess this other entry could support the idea of a Medical Inspector carrying out these proper 'inspection' tasks, which could make sense as this professional is signing a certificate. Thanks once again!
Taña Dalglish Jul 13, 2022:
@ Maru_afer Did you look at this link (a previously unglossed entry): https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/medical-health... (the person is a medical practitioner who outlined the duties of a Medical Inspector in the US). It is a pity that the Asker chose to close the question without providing the final term.
Maru_afer (asker) Jul 13, 2022:
Thanks everyone for all the references and answers. I had found the same entry as Taña (the one that suggests that a Medical Inspector performs duties in the US Army), that is why I was (and still am...) a bit confused. I am trying to find some context from the real use of the term in Argentina, but without any luck. I guess I could just leave it as Medical Inspector to keep the ambiguity of the term, or I could think of this 'Inspector' as something related to 'supervisor'. Thanks everyone once again!

I don't see why a "medical inspector" should appear on a degree certificate, and I wonder whether it means something like "medical assessor" or "examiner".
Taña Dalglish Jul 12, 2022:
@ David You're back? Missed us? LOL. I didn't post for the reason that the two links provided suggest: 1) In the English link, the term "medical inspector" suggests an officer in the US Army; but 2) the previously glossed entry (which was closed ungraded, and it appèars that the Asker of that question chose a different term, but did not state what they had chosen to use. Argh!). But, I guess I will post "Medical Inspector" now! Regards.

good research Taña and see no reason why not "medical inspector"

Chief Medical Officer

I think this is more like it, since It seems to me that medical certifications would fall to a medical officer.

Context:
Looking for someone familiar with the CFSE and Industrial Hospital / Dispensary system in Puerto Rico to tell me the best English rendering of "médico inspector" -- do we have an equivalent title/position here in the U.S.? Thanks.

Proposed answer: I'm not sure about the CFSE system, but a common term in the U.S. is medical inspector. This refers to a physician that is responsible for performing inspections of work sites, hospitals, utility systems and the like for threats to public/worker's health or violations of sanitation laws.

agree philgoddard : But I don't think "medical inspector" makes sense in the context.

Based on the context provided by the Asker, "Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology" and signed by another doctor, that is all there is to go by! Anyone could sign the certificate. "Medical examiner" is "medico forense" so IMO that does not fit!
