Spanish term

evento de confrontación

Spanish to English Art/Literary Idioms / Maxims / Sayings
This is a text about the art show Utopolis, which took place in Caracas shortly after Hugo Chavez fired the directors of 18 cultural institutions

Concebida como la primera edición de un evento de confrontación, promovido y patrocinado por Movilnet, le corresponde a Utópolis estrenar el arribo oficial de la “revolución” a los museos y quedar atrapada en la turbulencia de aquellos días.

Such a strange phrase: "oppositional" "contrarian"??

Well, thanks neilmac, even though I went out on a bit of a limb. But since I'm a political activist when it comes to a couple of issues, I'm not surprised this came to my mind. Goes to show how life experiences, etc., color translators' interpretations.
