English term
Attachment (in notary's deed - vs. appendix and vs schedule)
English to German
Law/Patents
Law (general)
Structure of a deed
as opposed to schedule and appendix
This must have been asked 1001 times, but I do not seem to find a proper and reliable differentiation. From 3 past clients I have different versions of the truth. Maybe someone here has the ultimate answer to share for once and for all?
Attachment - Anhang seems to be the kind of paper that used to be "stapled" to the main doc- but schedule (here the schedule is a German law - so - Anlage ?), but I always have doubts on "appendix".
Your input is highly appreciated- if this has been asked and answered elsewhere- apologies!

Note from asker:
ok, that all makes sense, but how do you differentiate from the other two? |

: Great links, very helpful in English. Do German equivalents exist as well?

Discussion
I do understand the distinctions, and would like to find lomg-term reliable transaltions. Worst , but not unacceptable outcome is to construe different terms as per the helpful suggestion from @Heike.
Anhang = something that is added, but within the document (e. g. an extra chapter in a book with explanatory remarks )
Beilage = an extra document that may have nothing to do with the first one (e. g. in newspapers you sometimes get advertising brochures as a "Beilage") - but also used like the DE-DE "Anlage" in Switzerland (DE-CH)
All these terms have different meanings in other context, an Anlage can be a large machine, a Beilage can be a side dish, an Anhang can be family members - I suggest checking the https://www.dwds.de/
Sequenced these three notarial deed terms would then be rendered into German as:
attachment > Anlage
appendix > Anhang
schedule > Beilage
