Salut!

I am not sure if the most suitable translation for this is 'notification order of referral' 'transfer order' or something else. The document is from France and the target language is UK English.

Lisa We can read the asker's question and do not need you to repeat it or paraphrase it or to machine retranslate it into dodgy French. Please don't waste your time.
Lisa Rosengard Feb 21, 2023:
It's a written order or advice regarding communication to the procurator with respect to an invoice for fees. (FR: C'est une ordonnance ou une notification en ce qui concerne une facture écrite pour le procureur des honoraires ou des frais.)

Sorry, typo (finger slipped): transfer

neutral Jennifer Levey : I imagine Asker wants a translation, not an explanation.

Well, since there is no equivalent in GB, I think this works as a functional translation
agree Adrian MM. : Committal for trial (notice to proceed with a prosecution, Bridge) vs a civil-case subpoena duces tecum of one party https://www.proz.com/kudoz/french-to-english/law-general/254...

thanks, but I respectfully disagree with Bridge; there is no committal as such, simply a "handing over" to the public prosecutor (who may still decide whether or not to proceed; and remember there is no formal charge until he/she so decides)

Peer comment(s):

neutral AllegroTrans : It's more than mere notification, it involves sending the court file; effectively, it's the next stage in a prosecution based on a finding by the juge d'instruction that there is a case; "communiquer" here is being used in the sense of "to send"

agree philgoddard : You just need something short and sweet that summarises what the document is. Sorry about Adrian's continued obsession with UK law.

disagree Adrian MM. : EU Parliamentary franglais/ 'A Notification Order makes the offender subject to notification requirements in the same way as if they had been convicted in the UK for a sexual or violent offence' https://www.lawinsider.com/dictionary/notification-order

Like everything else we translate, the terms must be understood 'in context' - and Asker's context makes it abundantly clear that this Ordonnance / 'Order' has nothing to do with convictions for sexual or violent offences committed in the UK.

Peer comment(s):

disagree AllegroTrans : Nothing is being ordered to be produced: it's about sending the file to the public prosecutor once the investigating judge has completed all the taking of witness statements and has questioned the suspect etc.

neutral philgoddard : The question is not about "ordonnance de production".
