وقفت منضبطا

Arabic to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature

Does this just mean, 'I stood up straight/with my back straight?'

The scene is a man standing in line in the military for the first time.

وقفتُ في آخر صف العساكر، وقفتُ منضبطا ....

Thanks!
