French term
cadre de griffes.
French to English
Tech/Engineering
Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Weaving loom/in a patent
Context:
Elle s’applique également à une cinématique dans laquelle chaque série de couteaux constituent un ensemble rigide solidaire de deux barres d’entraînement situées de chaque côté de la machine formant ainsi un cadre de griffes.
Editing task and this has been translated as "claw frame", which does not sound convincing. Jacquard type loom, with shed-forming device fitted.
Any suggestions most welcome. TIA Chris.

Jacquard mechanisms certainly have 'griffes' - you'll find the word used 73 times here https://www.gutenberg.org/files/54193/54193-h/54193-h.htm
"For the warp-threads required to be raised holes are punched in the cards. In these holes the points of the needles extending through the needle-board are pushed by a spring fastened on the rear of each needle. The needles are adjusted in rows of different heights. The arrangements most used are 4, 8, and 12 rows high. Each row as to height in the machine contains a bar (knife) in the griffe. When the griffe is down, or the machine at rest, the upper crooks of the hooks are raised about half an inch above the griffe-bars."
'Griffe' was a surprising discovery, given that I was looking for 'hooks' (148 times in the text).
"griffe
[...]
2 : an arrangement of parallel bars on a loom for lifting the hooked wires that raise the warp threads in weaving jacquard or dobby fabrics".
