German term

Zantisch

German to English Other History
"Fundamente des Zantischen Quartiers"
Part of a castle in Luxemburg.
Google comes up with one hit: "...hat auch in der Zantischen Mühle mahlen lassen", which suggests that it's not just referring to someone's name.
Proposed translations (English)
4 +1 of the Zant family

of the Zant family

I believe that this adjective is derived from the name of the patrician family Zant. (See "Die Zant: Geschichte und architektonisches Erbe einer Patrizierfamilie" by Artur Dirmeier at www.spital.de/archiv/webedition/zant.pdf) The only other occurrence of the word I could find was a reference to Zakynthos (or "Zante"), the southernmost of the Ionic islands. (See: www.travelhomepage.de/zante/zante.htm)
