peer es 'par', 'igual'; en este contexto 'interlocutor' (para ahorrarse trabajo quien ha escrito los mensajes de la libreriia), ya que 'interlocutor' vale para "servidor" (que --en SSL-- siempre tiene certificado) y "cliente" (que lo tiene opcionalmente).
