Challenge

I took a look at a few sites mentioning the word النعي (together with محكمة الموضوع) and am pretty convinced that this is what it means: to challenge/ formally object/ contest a court decision. It definitely doesn’t mean Obituary in this context. Take a look:

وهو أمر اباحته المادة 37 من القانون المذكور فان النعي على الحكم بمخالفة المادتين 5/1 و 38 من هذا القانون يكون على غير أساس.
