in the context of mechanical engineering, "vodič" would be a "guiding element" - guiding the movement of some mobile part of the machinery or the movement of the work piece, or the movement of bottles in a bottling line or the movement of parcels in a sorting machine etc ...
THAT kind of "vodič" would require "elastične podloške" and would be assembled using "vijci M12 i M16 + matice" (i.e. screws of of 12 and 16 mm in diameter!)

There is a limit as to how much errors are to be assumed - confusing "mechanical engineering" with some electrical installation with extremely thick electrical cables is unlikely, and anyway Asker has the whole text available and can see what makes sense.

Ponavljam, HR: vodič (SR: provodnik) > EN: conductor, a HR: vodilica (SR: vođica) > EN: guidinig element, guide. U tome je problem, prevod se traži za „vodič“, a to nikako nije isto što i „vodilica“ (ni u mech. ni u el. kontekstu). PS:Errare humanum est!

Ako je iz oblasti elektrotehnike, onda je svakako ispravan prevod: vodič (HR) > conductor, cable... (EN).
BTW, „guiding element, guide“ i sl. na hrvatskom je „vodilica“, a ne vodič.
