The new system would pay for itself over five years Explanation: I think that's the natural English way to say it. It probably disregards interest, so that's why it's "prosty". |

break-even return Explanation: Please see the link below under 'Brake-even Analysis'. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2006-05-28 18:23:05 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Dear Igor, just noticed a typo in "Break-even Analysis" for which apologise. Suffering from a more severe variant of 'Bank Holiday weekenditis" :-) Reference: http://www.info.gov.hk/hkma/eng/press/2002/attach/20020527e3... |

simple payback period Explanation: "Návratnost" in Czech corresponds to two terms in English, which should not be confused: Return on Investment (ROI) - simple, discounted, compound (discounted and compound are two different things) = how much will I earn, if I make the investment? Example: (gains - investment costs) / investment costs = ROI (x100 = in per cents). Payback period - simple or discounted. It is the amount of time it will take to recover the investment. Freuquently used in relation with invetments in energy saving. Example of calculation: (investment costs) / (energy cost savings per year) = payback period in years.
