The following suggests that these wells are used to relieve pressure, but I'd still call it a dewatering well (also my logic is that when wells are used for pressurizing they called them e.g. water/steam injection well rather than pressurizing well).

Found this in my Translation Memory, but a colleague did the research, so I can't give you more details. Hope it helps, anyway.
