Danish term

årgangstræner

Danish to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation sports coach
I am afraid there is not much context for this - just a single line mentioning that someone was an ´årgangstræner´ for a junior football team (under 17).
(årgangshold).

Thanks for any suggestions!

Coach

I would go for just 'coach' since it refers to the U17 team. The 'årgang' simply refers to kids of that specific age (U17s - players born a certain year), it does NOT imply whether this is for competitive sports or regular sports (so, 'young talents' should not be added). So, to be safe, I'd go for 'coach'. My kids are in many sports and, at least here in Canada, it would simply be referred to as 'coach'.
Example sentence:

He has been the coach for the U17 boys' soccer team for the past three years

Note from asker:
Thanks, Pernille This was the conclusion I was coming to. As far as I can see from googling, it is a big club, and most of the members play for the exercise and for fun, so there are not necessarily any potential world talents in the team :-)
