Nabataatun muHassanatun intajiyyan

Just couple of more debatable ideas, Mona:

muHassana intajiyyan/wirathiyyan
mu'addala fi tarkeebiha al-wirathiyy
mughayyaratu al-khaSaa-iS al-mawrutha
mu'addalatu at-takween

That's it...for the time being.

al mouaddala jinyyan or al mouaddala wirathyan

we're using the first answer as the word "jinyyan" is started to be used more and more frequently.

you may take the other option as a conservative classical answer.

i don't approve with the former formula of "mouhandasa wirathian" because the real meaning is that there was a modification in the genetic structure (handasa) and every gene is structured anyway

Nabataat mu-'addalah wiraathiyyan

Dear Mona,

I personally RESIST the easy way out of Arabicizing --I first try my darnest to find a PROPER Arabic translation (if it looks or sounds 'odd,' I put the 'foreign' word after it in parenthesis).

Thus, I'd use wirathiyya --even taTawworiyya or khilqiyya--before resorting to jiniyya.

Best regards.
