English term

double towered

English to German Art/Literary
The double towered façade is ornamented with figures of soldiers...

My first guess was "zweitürmig", but how can a façade have two towers, since its only the façade and not the top of the structure? But maybe I just don't get the point. Any clues? Thanks!

Doppeltürmig

Hallo Reni,

Die deutsche Übersetzung lautet "doppeltürmig".

Beispiel: After Naumburg Cathedral, Liebfrauen Church is the most important sacral building of Thuringia. It is a three- naved basilica with a double-towered west front in the late
Romanesque / early gothic style.

I would tend to stick with the literal translation for double, how does that jive with the rest of the sentence? Also, I think towers can be incorporated into a facade, I'm sure architects in this forum can confirm this, right?
