Hi,
I need help with the above terms. The are all taken from an operating manual for a front end loader (Schaufellader) with a bucket which is used to load, haul and dump rock material. Here's some context:
- tramming capacity 10000 kg
- drop box (this has something to do with the transmission or steering system). "The drop box mounted piston pump (variable displacement pump) delivers oil to a hydraulically controlled steering main valve." or "The drop box mounted piston pump delivers oil to the bucket main valve."
- up-box: "The engine-mounted transfer gearbox ("up-box") drives the converter and four speed power-shift transmission assembly through a driveshaft."
Any explanation in English or German will be helpful. Thank you very much.

This is a guess for "tramming capacity" (do you have more context?).
Also, is there more context to the other two terms? The "up-box" might be a "Hochkippschaufel."

I wasnt familiar with "tramming" in this kind of context but it does appear to mean "Nutzlast" ie. the load the machine can take. Wether this is bucket load or total load depends on context.
"Drop box" and "up box" are not gebneric terms and I expect they are specific terms coined to descrobe elements of the hydraulic system in question. I think your only solution is to decide what the function is a allocate an appropriate term. It may well be that the lifting and emptying functions are seperated in the control sytem and have been given seperate sets of controls. having said that, very very large mining excavators have control elemnets that they drag around behing them on sleds. this could also concievably be known as a drop box.
