Optical measurement assembly
Each optical measurement assembly consists of camera and laser subassemblies mounted in rugged, environmentally sealed, light weight enclosures (LRU).
The assembly is designed to facilitate installation on bogies.
Two optical measurement assemblies are required in the standard TGMS setup, one for each rail.

Each Optical assembly is protected against external impacts (especially ballast) by further structures such as metallic carter or thermoplastic covers.
