English to Norwegian Medical Medical (general) Methode, instrument

Exact phrase: "Use suture ring as primary suture site or any other suitable and safe fixation aid. Do not secure directly to the shaft of the catheter to avoid cutting the catheter."

What exactly is "suture ring" - is it an actual medical object/instrument? I find different uses of the term. But it does not seem to be an actual object used for medical reasons. And with regards to Norwegian translations I can only really find suturering, but it does not seem to be a combined word of any kind, purely the act of making sutures...
