English Science research report
Hi,

It's 12 pm here and I can't get this sentence right. I will list the components which it must contain, maybe someone can put that puzzle together. thanks a lot.

1. Our research focused on
2. studying the dependence of the saturation magnetization (M) on temperature (T)
3. in the case of ferrimagnetic nanoparticles of XXX (some chemical formula here in the original document) that were surfacted with oleic acid and dispersed in petroleum

the basic skeleton is:

focus on : M dependence on T for xxx

This is how my sentence looks in one reading

Our research focused on studying the dependence of the saturation magnetization on temperature in the case of ferrimagnetic nanoparticles of XXX that were surfacted with oleic acid and dispersed in petroleum

Sorry for beating around the bush but I am very tired and I am not sure I can express myself clearly (good thing we have the login, otherwise I probably wouldn't even know my name, my brain is already dead)

temperature dependence of saturation magnetism

1. is good,
2. is good but can be made more concise this way - which sounds very natural in a scientific text
3. sounds OK, perhaps
nanoparticles (of XXX) surfacted (or: surface activated) ...

Surfact is quite a rare word, means surface activate, but it may be unnecessary to change in this context for experts.

I would replace "dependence" with a the phrase "how M depends on T"

Your sentence, which is alright as it stands, may become a bit clearer or smoother with the following minor changes:

The focus of our research was to show how saturation magnetization depended on temperature in the case of ferrimagnetic nanoparticles of XXX that were surfacted with oleic acid and dispersed in petroleum.

\"Depended\" may also be replaced with \"varied with\" or \"was a function of\":

The focus of our research was to show how saturation magnetization varied with temperature in the case of ferrimagnetic nanoparticles of XXX that were surfacted with oleic acid and dispersed in petroleum.

There are other equivalent phrases as well, like \"changed with\" or \"was correlated with.\"

another way is to use the expression \"to show the correlation between\":

The focus of our research was to show the correlation between saturation magnetization and temperature in the case of ferrimagnetic nanoparticles of XXX that were surfacted with oleic acid and dispersed in petroleum.
