French term

une communauté ou une personne SOLAIRE ?

French to English Art/Literary Advertising / Public Relations
Hello all,

I need to translate the word SOLAIRE from French into english.

Not the literal translation, SOLAR, but the word used in French to describe a person (and which can be extrapolated to describe a community / team etc)

For context, this is the exact sentence I need to translate :

"....cette communauté résolument subtile, optimiste et SOLAIRE...."

(It's PR work for a community of Cultural and Creative Industries, this piece will be posted on their website)

Many thanks in advance,

when you describe a peson as "solaire" you are referring to someone who lights up the room, radiates goodness and happiness
Samuël Buysschaert Sep 2, 2021:
solaire/rayonnant Je suis d'accord avec Althea, c'est un mouvement destiné à accompagner et favoriser l’expansion des industries à l'international, de faire "rayonner" le savoir-faire,... sur le territoire et dans le monde dans différents secteurs.

Apollonian, scintillating, upbeat, impressive? I have found potential answers on the TLFi that seem to fit in with Camaleon123's description of the PR website and given context. Please check out : http://stella.atilf.fr/Dendien/scripts/tlfiv5/visusel.exe?12...
The definitions that caught my attention are as follows: 'b) [P. réf.

It may be that 'solaire' has been used to tie in with the use of 'rayonner', 'rayonnant' and 'rayonnement' further on in the text where it refers to making French creativity 'shine' throughout the world. For example
"de permettre aux ICC françaises d’affirmer leur positionnement à l’international
et de rayonner dans le monde"
"sont indispensables à la fois à notre économie et à notre rayonnement à l’international"
"Un movement ... rayonnant (faire rayonner la créativité française dans le monde)"

une personne solaire beams with happiness; these people are at one with the world and their inner balance shows through. I've never seen that word used to describe a community in that sense. (Later) My post was meant as an answer to a post which has now been deleted.

a solar community

"Solaire" is a psychological characteristic, it has nothing to do with the sun.
Solar people are those who have a fair amount of self-confidence and who know how to face reality with balance.
In this case we are talking about a community of people in which everyone is solar.
