Bashiqa (asker) Nov 10, 2011:
@ Phil Sorry for the hamster, but I will get paid for what has already been done, thankfully!!
philgoddard Nov 9, 2011:
Would anyone like to join me in a multimillion-dollar class action against Bashiqa's client for wasted time and lost earnings?
Bashiqa (asker) Nov 9, 2011:
@ All Thank you for your efforts on 'triggant' and 'joint delta', having done about 5000 words, the client has just cancelled the project. Ho hum *!!*¤¤ At least I can go to bed early tonight.
Bashiqa (asker) Nov 8, 2011:
@ cc Alimentation, i.e. supply
Compressor is an air-conditioning unit in the car
chris collister Nov 8, 2011:
That would seem the obvious choice, but does it make sense to trigger on the BSM (whatever that may be) output of the compressor power supply? On the other hand, if the compressor is a mechanical compressor (though for all I know it could be a data or signal compressor), it could well be generating pulses (revolutionary impulses?) by means of a magnetic pickup.
kashew Nov 8, 2011:
Good point! Alimentation would be my bet.
chris collister Nov 8, 2011:
But seriously... is that in fact "aimentation", "alimentation", or "aimantation"?
kashew Nov 8, 2011:
@CC And the related frigger? From OF friguer?
chris collister Nov 7, 2011:
Don't forget that the word "trigger" derives from the FR "trigger", or Old French "triguer" and our modern EN usage, "to trig" (though some variants have it as "to trigg"). Shakespeare refers to "trigging bastards", while Marlow describes a drunkard trigging unsteadily from brothel to brothel. Note the obvious etymological link with "intrigue". RR's horse was certainly pretty frisky, and as for hamsters.....
Bashiqa (asker) Nov 7, 2011:
@Phil I thought I was the one who came up with silly remarks. It's nice to see there are other light hearted people around. Life is for living not just for work.
philgoddard Nov 7, 2011:
My pet hamster is called Trigger. Can I have some too?
Bashiqa (asker) Nov 7, 2011:
@ Kashew Thanks for this vital piece of information. Is this your way of getting the points??:-)
kashew Nov 7, 2011:
Trigger Roy Rogers had a horse called Trigger.

A muxlog I take to mean a multiplexed (data) logger, which is told to wake up and log an event when it receives a trigger signal from the output of the compressor supply (unless that really is "aimentation", ie something to do with magnets, which it could be).
Is Franglais a legitimate ProZ pair component?

Schnap!
Stricly speaking, that would be "aimantation" if it's related to magnets, but who knows?
Note from asker:
Thank you. No doubt will be beack with other questions.
