French term
la stratégie de différentiation par le haut ou sophistication
French to English
Social Sciences
Management
Strategy mainly inspired by Porter
Any references to English works describing a differentiation strategy including the specification "par le haut" would be welcome.

strategy of high-end differentiation
I don't know how widely accepted this usage is, but I found a reference that discusses differentiation strategies in terms of "high end" vs. "low end" (cannot copy because of restrictions imposed by Google Books).

If this is not the precise term you were looking for, maybe it will at least spark additional ideas.

Here's another reference that talks about "high-end differentiation" (Midas, Atlas and Hermes are from Greek mythology; they don't refer to the company names that will be familiar at least to US readers):
This chapter has illustrated the various ways firms have used to differentiate their products and services in order to compete effectively in contemporary markets. There are three general categories for differentiation. They are the high-end Midas products and services, the mass-appeal Atlas products and services, and the low-end Hermes products and services. There are identifiable revenue benefits for using a product differentiation strategy, but there are also R&D implications...
The same source also titles one of its graphs:

Comment: "Thanks - this seems to me to be the most accurate combination of the standard terms used by Porter and the specific context."

strategy of differentiation from the top or sophistication
i would translate it like that.

strategy of bidding high as best value provider
One of the contract procurement methods: either lowest cost or best value (bidding high thorough strong capability with added value to the contract).

: Asker is looking for a specific term in the field of marketing related to product differentiation based on elevated price and real or perceived elevated quality. I don't think it has anything to do with contracts.
