French term
infiltré
French to English
Medical
Medical (general)
Context:
A patient who developed a large rash on the backs of her hands and the fronts of her arms after sun exposure (thought to be drug induced).
Clinical examination:
Backs of hands: red, squamous, [infiltré]
Arms: multiple confluent nummular eczema lesions.
I need some help with the correct English term for "infiltré" in this context. Do you think this is referring to thickened skin (as a result of scratching etc)?
I know that eczema can also lead to blistering, but as the skin is scaly here, it is more likely to be dry.
Thanks in advance!

: Hi Manu. I am having trouble with this. What is your understanding of "infiltrated" in this context? What is infiltrating what? Usuually in dermatology we speak of infiltration with white blood cells, but that would require a biopsy, and this is an exam

As in infiltrated dermatosis, detected on palpation.
