French term

prise en charge de secteur

French to English Medical Medical (general)
In a letter from a doctor explaining the reasons for discharging a patient.

Not entirely sure what they are referring to here.

All thoughts very gratefully received.

Thank you Jessie.
neutral patrickfor : be careful here..the "secteur" might well be a specific area, not any local hospital // I wrote "be careful" not "you're wrong". If we are talkins psychiatry for example there is a division in "Secteurs" http://www.ch-nemours.fr/pageLibre00010147.html

The physician discharging the patient is probably working in a teaching hospital and in this case refers to the lower level of care. Rather typical for France. // No problem Patrick, I understand what you meant.
