In this case is difficult to say something about any context, but I will try.
This "verrouillage du mode" is an item in main menu of thermoregulator (device connected to a hot water boiler controller, which allows you to change the temperature of room")
After activate "verrouillage du mode" you need to enter a code before you want to change any value in particular mode.

Basicly it blocks currently used function of thermoregulator and prevents from accidental value change.
