I can find 'debit reconciliation' via google searches but I think there might be a better technical term than that. I am in Australia.

While "debit reconciliation" is not wrong, taking the full context into account, I think the above is better. Monies received result in a debit balance in cash on hand. This Abstimmung der Kasse is a reconciliation of the actual cash on hand with the balance as per the account, which would normally be a debit balance. Hence, reconciliation of cash (or funds to be a bit more generic) on hand.

'debit reconciliation' is correct

My apologies if this isn't the answer you were looking for, but I believe your initial findings were correct.
"Abstimmung" in this context is definitely "reconcilliation".

If you figure in that in relation to "Abstimmung" "Soll" and "Haben", refer to "debits" and credits", then the meaning behind the jargon starts to take shape.
