Some previous studies have demonstrated the adverse effects of air pollution, especially particle matter (PM) and nitrogen oxides (NOx), on COPD risk, and the function of air pollution in the elicitation of inflammatory injury and oxidative damage played important roles in these associations. However, the role of air pollution in the development of COPD based on results of extant studies is still controversial.

: Pas vraiment. "Andere" ne se rapporte pas aux gaz ici mais à leur charge de poussières et produits de combustion (donc : tabac et autres ingrédients).
