Greek term

thiple

Greek to English Art/Literary
"see you sons *thiple* of me" SOS, please!
I think that "thiple" comes from Greek. Does it mean
"honey","sweet"? I know
"thiples",those delicious Greek fritters. The sentence appeared in KudoZ to be translated into Spanish.Nobody found the word "thine" looking up in dictionaries... Thanks a lot in advance.

δίπλα-thipla (th as in there):next to, beside

διπλός/διπλή/διπλό-thiplos/thipli/thiplo: double

These are the things that come in mind but do they make any sense in your phrase? I'm not sure...

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: " Thanks a lot, Estel. As you say, neither "next to" nor "double" make any sense in the context.Well,I will go on with my research: hope there is a solution in the end!"

"double" "twice the size"

In the context of your question I would suggest the word 'double'. This could mean carboncopy of me or twice the size of me????? More context is required to give a more precise translation.
"thiples" are certainly a delicious sweet enjoyed by Greek families at this time of year. MMmmmmmm - think I might make some tomorrow.
