I would appreciate help with this. I have a friend who has this annoying habit of putting bits of her texts/ emails in hindi, annoying because I don't speak it, unfortunately. doing the same ( but in spanish) to her hasn't made any difference. Some of these things have turned out to be quite profound, so I would appreciate very much an idea of what she's trying to say.

thanks
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (2): satish krishna itikela, Shaziya (X)

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Think of me some time, am i that bad?

The sentence in Hindi would make more sense if it had a question mark after "hu" or "kya" after "hu". "Kya" signifies "am I"? in this context. This type of sentence is normally used amongst friends or intimate relations.

do ask for me now and then, I am not that bad

I feel the Hindi expression is not complete. I feel it should have been something as follows. "Kabi yad kar liya karo, mai ithni buri tho nahin hun".

In Hindi if a person, say by name of Malhothra, were to ask for me and conveys this to a third person, this third person, when he comes my side would say something like, "Hello Raghavan, Malhothra aap ki yas kar rahe the".

Please see whether this translation suits your context.

agree Pundora : That conveys the meaning but I guess instead of 'now and then' it should be 'at least once in a while'.

Sometimes, try to understand (remember) that I am not so bad after all.

Since it is a friend it should have been---------Kabhi...............mein ithini buri tho nahi hoon.
Mein ithini buri hoon means - I am bad.

"am i so bad, do remember me atleast once,?"

This is used when a person doesn't want to talk to or remember.
