Op internet tref ik "piede motore" vrijwel uitsluitend aan bij buitenboordmotoren. Dit is het gestroomlijnde deel aan de onderzijde van de buitenboordmotor, waaraan de schroef is bevestigd. In het Nederlands wordt dit deel doorgaans "staartstuk" genoemd.
