• Polska Norma określa kład jako zarys figury geometrycznej powstałej w wyniku przecięcia przedmiotu tylko jedną płaszczyzną przekroju, z pominięciem zarysów i krawędzi leżących za tą płaszczyzną.
• Kład utworzony jest więc przez zarys figury płaskiej, leżącej w płaszczyźnie przekroju poprzecznego przedmiotu i obróconej wraz z nim o kąt 90°:
• położonej wprost na widoku przedmiotu (kład miejscowy),
• przesuniętej poza zarys przedmiotu (kład przesunięty).

Revolved Sections
A revolved section is made by revolving the cross-section view 90 degrees about an axis of revolution and superimposing the section view on the orthographic view. Visible lines adjacent to the revolved view can be either drawn or broken out using conventional breaks, as shown in Figure 29 (B). When the revolved view is superimposed on the part, the original lines of the part behind the section are deleted. The cross section is drawn true shape and size, not distorted to fit the view. The axis of revolution is shown on the revolved view as a centerline. Another example is shown in Figure 30.
Revolved sections are useful for describing a cross section without having to draw another view. Revolved Sections
Think of a cutting plane passing through part of an object, as shown in Figure 8-13A. Now think of that cut surface as revolved 90°, so that its shape can be seen clearly, as shown in Figure 8-13B. The result is a revolved section (also called a rotated section).
Use a revolved section when the part is long and thin and when its shape in cross section is the same throughout, as in Figure 8-14. In such cases, the view may be shortened, but the full length of the part must be given by a dimension. This lets you draw a large part with a revolved section in a shorter space.
Removed Sections
When a sectional view is taken from its normal place on the view and moved somewhere else on the drawing sheet, the result is a removed section. Because the removed section is easier to understand when positioned to appear in its normal place on the view, it cannot be rotated in just any direction. See Figure 8-15 for correct and incorrect ways to position removed sections. Use bold letters to identify a removed section and its corresponding cutting plane on the regular view.
