Hi,
I am looking for the translation of revestimento (either floor or wall) em pastilhas. Do pastilhas have a special name or are they called simply tiles ? I was thinking of using mini-tiles but conuldn´t find confirmation anywhere. For reference, see images of pastilhas de vidro (glazed? )at http://www.marmobraz.com.br/revestimentos/pastilha.html
Many thanks,
ME

mosaic tiles
While the tile surface may not be varied in colour or pattern, the generic name in English for "pastilhas" is mosaic tiles, small (usually 1inch) tiles that can be applied individually or in sheets.

YOu know, they wrote in their site pastikhas de vidro which means tiles made of glass (they mean the galss producing technology). One can see that they add some mineral components to glass tiles in order to widen the spectrum of colorsm structures, textures, etc.
You might use almost any of the woords above with adding that technologically the material is not plastic but a kind of glass. Note also that the name of company is translated as marble+Brasil.
Best luck in translating from this nice language (I love Alciona's sambas:).
