Russian term

ляпки

Russian to English Other
From an article including some drug slang: "Дурь", правда, они везут с собой редко. Только те, кто соображать уже не в силах, везут "ляпки" и наполненные шприцы с собой.

"Дурь" is obviously a slang term for drugs, i.e. "dope" or "stuff", but I can't come up with a specific translation for "ляпки".

Any help is greatly appreciated. My knowledge of modern Russian slang leaves much to be desired.

a shot of hop/pen-yen/ yen-shee
one ping wing (=the dose of one injection of narcotics into the arm)

I explored into the issue of "lyapka", and found out the following:

“Lyapka” means the portion of raw opium (=Rus. “khanka”, =Eng. “hop”, “pen-yen”, “yen-shee”, etc.), which is enough for one injection (see the search results below). The size of “Lyapka” differs, and can reach 0.4 gr. Before it is dissolved and injected (e.g. when being transported and sold to the drug addict), the drug pushers wrap this brown substance in film, one wrapped dose being a “lyapka”.

EXAMPLES:

Yes, it is a very-very specific jargon word invented by very poor part of society, say "drug abusers" or drug addicts.

The porper word mean something quickly prepared or botched, or plumped. It is a kind of lozenge of drug, which is made to be then melt (e.g., in a spoon over fire) and then input into syringe, squirt to make an ijection.

To illustrate the sense of the word "lyapki", take eg cement with water and drop it down on a surface, Your drops will take the form of a "lypka". Note that "lyapki" is given in plural.

Hope this helps:)
