Spanish term

fiestas pánicas

Spanish to English Art/Literary Cinema, Film, TV, Drama
This is from a text about nadaist festivals held in cali Colombia in the 60s:

It doesn't refer to the online "panic party" game, it would seem.

panic parties

It seems to refer to a specific movement in the 60s, so this is another option.

Panic Movement - Wikipedia

Panic Movement (Mouvement panique) was a collective formed by Fernando Arrabal, Alejandro Jodorowsky and Roland Topor in Paris in 1962. Inspired by and named after the god Pan, and influenced by Luis Buñuel and ..

The Panic parties were like experimental labs from which Jodorowsky could casually observe the reactions of the spectators. The parties were the springboard to begin the ephemerals as the chance actions at the parties validated Jodorowsky’s desire to create intentionally provocative
environments and situations. Students at the time have described their collective desire to change the school permitted things that others would not, including their infamous costume parties (the last of which transpired in 1966) inspired by Jodorowsky’s early “panic parties”

panic (theatrical) events / panic performances

I have called it a 'theatre of ceremony' or 'Panic theatre.'

As far as I was concerned, and a few years later, I would deny all connections with Panic Theatre (which englobed grosso-modo the existential and anarchistic energy that went from Becket and Ionesco to Arrabal).

The Panic Movement performed theatrical events designed to be shocking, as a response to surrealism becoming petite bourgeoisie and to release destructive energies in search of peace and beauty. One four-hour performance known as Melodrama Sacramentral was staged in May 1965 at the Paris Festival of Free Expression. The “happening” starred Jodorowsky dressed in motorcyclist leather and featured him (...)
