Tag editor or Synergy shuts down in Windows Vista (32 bit)

I have bought Trados more than three months ago and it has taken me a while to learn it and transfer all my wordfast tm to trados but I still cannot work with it.
On Synergy sometimes I cannot even finish the process of creating a new project, because I get the message:
There was an error with this program, windows will shut it down.
The way I solved it was not selecting a terminology base and that solved it (although that´s not an ideal solution).

Once I am in tag editor the same happens there, I have tried with different documents, small, big...when you lest expect and with only microsoft outlook running in the background (which I need since that´s where I get all my work from), the system shuts down.
My computer is new, with Norton, INtel core duo, RAM 2046, Windows Vista (32 bit), Office 2007.
Is there a plug in, a patch or any other solution I should know about?

It´s SDL Trados 2007. Re-reading my explanation I noticed there is a mistake on the third paragraph. It´s not the system that shuts down but the program.

In case anyone is experiencing the same problems...I have downloaded and installed the new update and now everything is working fine (fingers crossed!).
