Spanish to English: Juguetes con lo último en tecnología se impuesieron en Feria Internacional de Nuremberg (Alemania)
Source text - Spanish Muñecos con puertos USB para conectar al computador, osos de peluche que funcionan como pequeñas consolas de juegos y tanques de juguete que incorporan cámaras de video, algunas de las novedades.
La Feria, que se celebra cada año por esta época, reúne a los principales fabricantes de juguetes de los cinco continentes, y es considerado el evento más importante del planeta para los sectores de juguetes, entretenimiento y ocio.
En esta edición dominaron los juguetes didácticos (aquellos con los que los niños refuerzan su aprendizaje) y los manuales (los que desarrollan destrezas en los infantes), pero también se vio una tendencia marcada hacia juguetes con un alto componente tecnológico.
Es el caso del Cosmic Catch, una pelota fabricada por Hasbro que está equipada con circuitos electrónicos que hacen posible que el juguete 'hable' y dirija el accionar de los usuarios.
Otro ejemplo es el H2Go, un vehículo de control remoto impulsado por hidrógeno, fabricado por Corgi. En este, aparte del tradicional carro, el niño puede jugar con una estación de hidrógeno, que es capaz de transformar agua en este elemento, con ayuda de electricidad.
Una muestra más de cómo la tecnología se ha tomado el mundo de los juguetes es Funkeys Town, una comunidad virtual creada por Mattel, en la que los niños pueden asumir diferentes roles y vivir aventuras interactivas.
Por otra parte, así como en la Feria del 2007 la sorpresa fueron los juguetes ecológicos (fabricados con madera, tela y materiales naturales), en la edición de este año llamaron la atención los denominados híbridos.
Estos son juguetes que no cumplen una sola función, sino que sirven para varios usos.
Entre ellos se destacó la presentación de un yo-yo que puede servir como trompo y un oso de peluche que hace las veces de una pequeña consola de juegos.

In this edition, the educational toys (those which reinforce a child’s learning, manipulation (those that work motor skills in infants) dominated, but also prevalent were the toys with a highly technological component.
Another example was the H2Go, manufactured by Corgi, which is a remote control vehicle propelled by Hydrogen. A departure from the traditional toy car, a child is able to utilize a Hydrogen station that is capable of transforming water into this element, with the help of electricity.
An example of how technology has taken over the world of toys is Funkey’s Town, a virtual community created by Mattel, in which children can play different roles, and live out interactive adventures.
Different from the 2007 Fair, in which ecological toys (made from wood, cloth, and natural materials), this year’s edition called attention to the so-called hybrids.
These are the toys that don’t perform just one function but rather serve various uses.

I'm currently taking courses through NYU's school of translation in order to obtain a professional certification in translation from Spanish to English. Although I'm still a little "green" to the freelance community, I love the work; I finally have found the one thing that I know I could do for the rest of my life. Translating has indeed become one of my passions.
When I'm not behind a computer, I'm either teaching High School Spanish, Coaching football, playing golf, or most importantly spending time with my children.
For me, life has truly been one surprise after another. One of the many reasons why I love the Spanish language so much is that I never really know where it is going to take me.
