I am a Brazilian Portuguese native speaker with a Licentiate in Letters Degree from UniABC – University of the Greater ABC Region in Brazil. I am a fully accredited Brazilian Portuguese and English (as a second language) teacher in Brazil. Additionally, I am a fully accredited Portuguese and Brazilian Literature teacher. Currently, I am a senior at FAU in the Bachelor of Arts Program with a major in Linguistics.

While I was a student at the university in Brazil, I worked as a substitute teacher in the public school system, and after my graduation, I was hired as a full-time teacher. Furthermore, I worked as an independent contractor in a language school in which I taught English to children as well as adults looking to enhance their professional skills to further their careers. Classes were taught in private, and small and medium size group settings. My extroverted nature was a tool I used to help students overcome their biggest barrier - shyness.

While working as an assistant teacher at Faculdade Anhaguera (College Anhaguera), I helped plan class schedules and taught higher education Brazilian Portuguese classes to students enrolled in the Licentiate in Letters’ degree. Additionally, I developed and taught Effective Teaching Practices for the Portuguese language classes.

After I moved to the US, I took some time off work for my adaptation to the US. Once I decided to return to the workforce, I was hired by Aetna International as a Portuguese Linguist Consultant, responsible for the translation of all marketing material distributed to brokers and their clients in Brazil.
