Hello, I am Mirja from Berlin. Born to a Swedish mother and a German father and raised in Cape Town and later Berlin, language has always been a big part of my life. Over the years, I have pursued several different careers before establishing myself as a translator. This previous knowledge is a great advantage when translating.
I offer qualified translation services in the following language pairs:
Swedish to German/English (mostly travel and tourism, marketing, corporate communications)
English to German (general, travel and tourism, marketing, fashion, international relations, corporate communications, instructions and manuals, quality infrastructure)
German to English (mostly travel and tourism).
In recent years, I have gained much experience from translating marketing and tourism texts, including website localizations.
When I translate, I apply my knowledge from my regional studies (BA North American studies (Freie Universität Berlin/University of Sydney), MA Scandinavian studies (Humboldt University Berlin), as well as my work experience as a project manager (quality infrastructure, EU/international development cooperation projects, research/academic landscape in the area of social sciences).
It goes without saying that I complete all tasks by the agreed deadline.
