English to Swahili: Corona Virus Detailed field: Medical (general)
Source text - English In November 2019, a strange infectious disease triggered by a coronavirus was initially observed in Wuhan, China. It rapidly spread to various countries across the world. And on 11th March 2020 the WHO acknowledged it to be a pandemic, with the nomenclature, “Coronavirus Disease 2019” or “COVID-19” for short (Tripathi, et al., 2021).
Translation - Swahili Mnamo Novemba 2019, ugonjwa wa kuambukiza wa ajabu uliosababishwa na virusi vya korona ulionekana hapo awali huko Wuhan, China. Ulienea haraka katika nchi mbalimbali duniani kote. Na tarehe 11 Machi 2020 WHO ilikiri kuwa ni janga la ugonjwa, wenye jina, "Ugonjwa wa Korona 2019" au "UVIKO-19" kwa kifupi (Tripathi, et al., 2021).

Bio
Born and raised in Dar-es-salaam, hence i am a native speaker of Swahili. I have been working as an
interpreter and translator for 7 years in the respective oral presentation and
documented materials from wide range of professions.
Since I started working as an interpreter and translator in
2016, I have managed to translate more than 4 million words orally and written.
Highly engaged in technical translation in engineering, architectural works,
and industrial works, also being part of different legal and juridical
translations of different corporate statutes, remittance drafts, but also legal
binding documents.
I am well equipped with skills of conducting translation and interpretation different modes like simultaneously, consecutive, whispered and relayed. I am also a voice over artist for both studio and off studio recording.
I have managed to provide these services to different organization and in different events like, Chuo Kikuu Seventh Day Adventist Church, DEA, Ministry of Mining, United Republic of Tanzania (Mining and Investment Forum 2023), Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar (Inauguration of IIT Madras Tanzania), Ministry of Energies, United Republic of Tanzania (Clean cooking symposium 2022) Pan African Donkey Conference (2022) and many more not to mention.
Understanding the core aim of translation and interpretation
of creating a broad understanding from the respective parties within the
communication channel, I ensure the success of that through high precision and
elaboration upon confusion to aid my clients achieving their heart longing goal
of being understood and understanding.
