Source text - English Approximately in 381 A.D the Roman State succeeded in suppressing the Unitarians (under the leadership of Arius) beliefs that at that time was the closest to the true teachings of Nabî ‘Îsâ (p.b.u.h) [whom the Christians claim was Christ Jesus, the Greek]. Two years later, approximately 383 AD, not having destroyed the Unitarian beliefs completely, the state introduced a Bible which would conform to its ideology. Pope Damasus who was the “Pontifex Maximus” for the state entrusted this task to St. Jerome. The following statement bears the information from which this inference is drawn: “The Vulgate is the translation of the Bible into Latin by St. Jerome (340-420). About 33 A.D, at the request of Pope Damasus, he began revising the Old Latin version of the Gospels according to the Greek. He probably revised the other books of the New Testament at the same time. Beginning about 37 in Bethlehem, he revised the Latin version of the protocanonical books... of the Old Testament according to the Greek in the Hexapla of Origen. About 390 Jerome began a new Latin translation of the whole Old Testament (except 5 deuterocanonical books) from the original Hebrew. The Vulgate is made up largely of Jerome’s work in these three revisions and versions. Thus in the Vulgate, the New Testament is his first revision according to the Greek.
Translation - French Vers 381 après J.C., l'Empire Romain parvint à mettre un terme aux croyances unitaristes (sous le commandement d'Arius), qui étaient à cette époque les plus proches des véritables enseignements de Nabi Issa (Alaihi Assalam) (lequel serait aux dires des chrétiens, Jésus-Christ le grec). Deux ans plus tard, à peu près en 383 après J.C., les croyances unitaristes n'ayant pas été totalement éradiquées, l'Empire introduisit une Bible qui se voulait conforme à son idéologie. Le pape Damase qui était le "Pontifex Maximus" pour l'Empire, confia cette tâche à St Jérôme. L'énoncé suivant fournit les informations à partir desquelles cette déduction a été effectuée:
"La Vulgate est la traduction de la Bible en latin par St. Jérôme (340-420). Vers 383 après Jésus-Christ, à la demande du pape Damase, il se mit à réviser l'ancienne version latine des Evangiles à partir du texte grec. Vers 390, Jérôme commença une nouvelle traduction latine de l'Ancien Testament en entier (à l'exception de cinq livres deutérocanoniques) à partir du texte hébreu d'origine. La Vulgate est en grande partie le fruit du travail de Jérôme dans ces trois versions et révisions. Ainsi, dans la Vulgate, le Nouveau Testament est sa première révision à partir du grec.
