Bio
I am a professional Chinese <> English translator accredited by NAATI (Level 3). I believe good translation helps to bring cultures together. I was born in Northwest China, along the silk-road, where 14 ethnic groups live together. After traveling around China for study and work, I now live in Australia. Having worked as a journalist, marketing person, and teacher, I chose translation and interpreting as my career because it fulfills my passion for languages, my dream of cross-cultural communication, and is a stimulating challenge.

Over the past three years I have produced a range of high quality translation in specialist subjects including business, health legal material (contracts and patents) and literature. I have also interpreted on various occasions such as business tours, international conferences, seminars and workshops. My work has been very well received by clients some of whom have voluntarily offered testimonials to the quality and professionalism of my work.

Apart from translation I have also been involved in teaching and training.
In 2009, I gave a workshop at the Australian Institute of Translators and Interpreters on cross-cultural marketing in website translation and design.
In 2010, I taught translation at the University of Western Sydney (UWS). I presented tutorials and prepared lecture materials on the topics of legal, medical advertisement translation and editing.

My language knowledge is backed up with communication and marketing skills, which I have gained through successive employment with the office of the State Coroner, Justice and Attorney General of Queensland and China Haier Group. My position with Queensland Justice required liaison with various government agencies, members of the public and mass media representatives. In Haier Group, I worked as an on-line marketing manager and participated in negotiating advertisement prices, drafting the annual budget as well as monitoring online promotions.

In addition to enjoying working in translation and interpretation, I enjoy travelling, playing classical piano and reading, waterskiing. I would love to discuss translation with other translators and work together as a team.
