Bio:I'm a freelance Italian translator from English and French, with Italian being my mother tongue. I translate, edit and proofread business, marketing, technical and legal texts for clients wishing to promote their communication into Italian, overcome language-related iss...ues, expand their business and boost their productivity. For complete details, you can also visit my website at www.giorgiagaravini.com.
Here is a brief summary of my background training and professional experience:
After obtaining a degree in Translation and Conference Interpreting and a diploma in Business & Foreign Languages, I began working in sectors that allowed me to build on my passion for languages and, above all, for text translation.
For 18 months I worked in Italy as both an in-house and freelance translator in a translation agency specialized in manuals, user guides and technical documentation. I also gained in-depth experience of Office, Trados, MultiTerm and Extract.
After this, I moved to London where I worked for 3 and a half years as Editorial Assistant for a media company. Here, I assisted the team in the monthly production and review of TV listings on behalf of international TV channels such as Discovery Channel and ESPN with particular reference to the Italian language.
Following this, I then spent 3 years as the in-house Italian translator at a major international agency in Leeds where I translated, edited, proofread, and QAed a wide variety of texts from English and French into Italian in sectors such as marketing, business, legal and government.
In addition to the above, I also carried out freelance translation activity on a part-time basis until I decided to make it my career full-time.

Bio:By profession and education I am an economist (international economic relations, Warsaw School of Economics, SGPiS (Foreign Trade faculty) at my time, SGH today. After graduation, I worked for 4 years for a Polish foreign trade organisation, exporting Polski Fiat cars t...o France (French was then my main foreign language). I married an Irishman and left Poland in 1976. Then, I followed my husband to Ireland and to various postings and, since it was difficult, or impossible to be a traveling economist, I concentrated on my linguistic abilities and became a translator/interpreter. I operated between 4 main languages: Polish (Native); English (main language since 1976); French (learned thoroughly - my Warsaw school was, and still is, a UNESCO Associated School and some of the subjects were thought through French. I also studied business French at the Warsaw School of Economics, and have French family connections, as my name indicates. I lived 4 years in Belgium and worked for a US company using English, French and Russian); Russian (I learned it as a child with my Russian grandmother, then had it in primary and secondary school, and at the Warsaw School of Economics. I later lived in Moscow for over 5 years and translated Russian films into English for Filmexport). On return to Poland with my husband (for a 6 years posting), I worked for Coopers and Lybrand, now PwC, as translator/interpreter, and for some time as the Manager of its Translation Division (mainly Polish/English/French). Currently, and for the last 10 years, I am working as a freelance translator for the European Commission (Polish/English and, to a lesser extent, Polish/French, 10,000 pages translated during that period). I have been using SDL/Trados since 2004. Currently I am working with Studio 2015.
Bio:I've been working as an EN - PT-BR translator since 2008. I have a BA in Language and Literature at University of São Paulo (Brazil), and the majority of my work was in technical translation of manuals, user information and courses for mechanical and electronic equipme...nts, IT servers and devices, trains, and offshore.
I also translated some texts and books in Christian literature, which is my main area of inretest at the moment.
Bio:I am an English><Spanish translator who has been working in the mining industry for about nine years now. My work involves dealing with highly complex technical texts from all departments in the company, from translation to final edit. Proof-reading and editing are a ma...jor concern, given the source texts written by different experts do not go through this process before they are sent for translation. I have also worked teaching translation for several years.
